Volunteer Opportunities

For individuals or group projects.

With the help of more than 450 volunteers, Restoration Ministries serves 7,000 individuals annually. Below is a list of our programs that are in need of volunteers.

After-School Program:
3:00 - 5:30 weekdays, 253 E. 159th Street, Harvey
Volunteer with children who participate in our After-School Program.

• Help with homework.
• Assist in computer lab.
• Read to younger children in our Reading Program.
• Help serve meals in our Kids Café.
• Help teach tennis.

Chess Club:
Thursday & Fridays, 3:30 - 5:00, 253 E. 159th Street, Harvey
Play chess with younger children and help teach chess to new players.

Harvey Boxing Club:
3:30 - 6:00 weekdays, 10:00 - 2:00 Sat., 15331 Broadway
Qualified coaches needed to train children in the sport of boxing and physical fitness.

Gallery of the Arts:
2 hrs/wk for a 6 week session, 15331 Broadway, Harvey
Artists and teachers needed to teach visual and performing arts to children and teens.

RMI Youth Group:
Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Harvey Boxing Club
Volunteers needed to serve as leaders and to mentor teens.

Food Pantry:
Mondays, 1 to 3 p.m. & 6:– 8:30 p.m., 253 E. 159th St. Harvey
Volunteers are needed to help distribute groceries to families in the evening.
Volunteers are needed on Monday afternoons to prepare food bags for distribution.

Youth Prayer Society:
Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Harvey House
Adults meet weekly to prayer for area youth. (Youth are welcome.)

Greater Chicago Food Depository
Saturdays – 9:00 a.m. – noon or 1:00 - 4:00, Wed. 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Volunteer at the Food Depository and earn credits for Restoration Ministries’ purchasing account. We will be happy to schedule a session for your volunteers. Call for 2010 Scheduled Dates.
