Restoration Ministries was founded on this familiar scripture verse. We operate 28 programs in Harvey, IL and with the help of 450 dedicated volunteers, we serve 7,000 individuals annually. Our mission is to bring the love of Jesus Christ into the lives of recovering drug-addicts, ex-criminals, lonely seniors, at-risk youth and families in need.
We began in 1988 with our first ministry, Harvey House School of Ministry, a Christian-based residential recovery program for men battling drug addictions. Over the years, we have become a beacon of hope in a community filled with poverty, violence, drugs, and gangs. Today, we reach out to all segments of the population with a special emphasis on children and teens.
In 1997, we opened Tabitha House for Women. At both Tabitha House and Harvey House, we provide life-changing opportunities to recovering addicts from all over the country. Through Project Intercept, we reach out to underprivileged children and teens and offer after-school activities as alternatives to the negative influences in their daily lives. At our two Thrift Stores we sell high quality used furniture, clothing and appliances at affordable prices and provide job training for Harvey House and Tabitha House residents and community members with limited job experience.
